# XRPL pre-payment check

Use this skill before building an XRP Ledger payment. All calls are read-only, and the free routes carry the same data as the paid mirrors.

Call `xrpl_payment_readiness` before paying (`GET /v1/xrpl/payment-readiness`): one call checks the destination, destination tag, deposit authorization, trust lines, balance and reserve, and issuer freezes, and returns a `verdict`. Send only on `ready`; never treat `unknown` as `ready`.

For an `unknown` verdict, or for more detail, use the manual breakdown:

1. `xrpl_network_health` (`GET /v1/xrpl/network/health`): proceed only when the network is healthy.
2. `xrpl_fee` (`GET /v1/xrpl/fee`): take the fee and note the congestion level.
3. `xrpl_account_summary` (`GET /v1/xrpl/account/{address}/summary`): confirm the sender balance covers the amount, the fee and the reserve, and check trust lines and transfer rates for issued currencies.

For a cross-currency or multi-hop payment, `xrpl_paths` (`GET /v1/xrpl/paths`) returns the routes and what the source would spend. A call can take up to about 20 seconds and the paths may be non-optimal.

Check `meta.age_seconds` and `meta.stale` on every response and re-read before signing if the values are old.

## Payments

The pro routes currently serve free data and no payment is required; paid access via x402 is announced but not active. Details: https://api.criptonlabs.com/docs/guides/payments.md
