# XRPL account

Use this skill to read the state of one account. Read-only; the free routes need no authentication.

- An unknown account answers 404 `not-found`: do not retry unchanged.
- `marker` is an opaque cursor: pass it back unchanged for the next page; it is `null` on the last page.
- Amounts are decimal strings; never convert them to floats.
